Default CCT Issues

So, I go to clean my carbs and decide ill pull out the cam chain adjuster and replace it. Carbs out, and I notice a little black plug with RTV sealant on it where the cam chain tensioner should be bolted from the inside.........interesting. Pry the plug out with a screwdriver (which turned out to be one of the black clips used for holding door panels to cars) and remove my Adjuster..........What do I see behind my adjuster? The Steel Portion of the Cam Chain Tensioner that the stud is attached to! Assuming the previous owner sheared off the stud when tightening it at some point and just plugged the hole. Luckily the tensioner hadnt popped off of the cam chain, but needs to be replaced due to the sheared stud, as well the film thats on the side that guides the cam chain is worn through, so time to order one tomorrow. This could have been catastrophic!
