Default Need Help With 1987 CBR600f puzzle

I bought an 87 CBR600f hurricane in boxes, my wife calls it a puzzle. In putting on the left rear cover over the fwd chain sproket I'm missing a couple of pieces one is Item # 5 part number 11365-mn4-000 "Case Protector" which is not available on the sites I've looked at. I can make one if I can get dimensions Item #2 in the diagram is not even listed. Is the part neccessary ? Thanx Wayne

The part that you are refering to is nothing more than a spacer that goes between the transmission case and the sprocket cover, it doesnt come in contact with "2" at all. The spacer is approx 1/8" thick. I believe "2" is just to signify the sprocket itself.

You can usually get parts from parts bandit though, that or if you have a local honda dealership they can order most anything off the diagrams. Might be useful if you find more missing things. Can be pricey at times, but... if you need it you need it.

Talking Clarification

The parts are not available at Honda, Dillon, Bike Bandit, and one other site I visited. The #5 part is not just a spacer as the case is machined at 3 of the 4 mount holes to accept it. I believe it may stop the chain from contacting the engine and case guard should it get loose. I could make one out of stainless or aluminum if I get the width dimension and someone knows the material. Steel vs Aluminum is an easy Identification.......... The #2 disc does not represent the sprocket. If you look at the diagram carefully, it bolts to a boss on the case guard and has a hole in it that fits over a pin on the case to stop rotation. I phoned Honda and the parts guy (For what it's worth as he did not know what a CBR600 was) Informed me that the # 2 disk is part of the case guard, it comes as an assembly.... which is discontinued and not available. They don't even list the part # of the case or disc. I could make the part with dimensions and material. IE Aluminum or Steel. I believe the disc is to protect the case and or prevent the sprocket and its attach bolt from backing off. I appreciate the help.

Default Parts Diagram

Sorry I thought I included a picture, Here's the parts diagram at Bike Bandit. My best guess is that I can do without the disk. But I would like the dimensions of the #5 part. If possible. In the absence of expert knowledge I will make due with a shim. I have no bike wreckers around Winnipeg MB to go and peruse.

Its made of steel, and if you hold up your sprocket cover to your case, that empty space, is your dimensions.

Default Apparent info

Thank you again for your time. The part is discontinued... Yes which is why I'm looking for help. The thickness of the part is utterly apparent too. The width of the part. Is not. If you laid the part on the table and straightened it out how wide would the sections be between the bolts. IE how much would the flange project inside the case. I think it would be aprox a 1/4" but that is a guess. I appreciate the time taken for posting reply's however if they are guess's they are not helping. I have a technical job however it's not motorcycles and all I have for info is a Haynes manual and OEM parts diagrams online. The info about it being steel is very helpfull.

Thank You Again for your Time Wayne

Default Thanx thrasher

Yes that's one of them. Thank you for the tape measure in the pictures, I'm going to make one out of stainless. Aprox. 1/4" wide should do it. It looks like it's tapered a bit along the width.

Look at the aluminum boss in the middle of the cover. Did you ever have anything attached to it? Sorry about no diagrams I'll try again.
