Default CBR600FL starting problems

Hi,

I was using the bike uptill last week, then after a heavy downpour the bike will no longer start with the electric start. works fine if I bump start the bike.

The bike does turn over ok, There is no spark at any cyclinder. the coils are getting the same battery voltage. When trying the coils using a Ohms tester I get one peak in the initial turn over, but that was all, same on all 4 cyclinders (not hundred percent sure I am using the ohms tester right though). The run switch is working fine.

I was told to test the ECM using the 6 pin green wire and I think it was yellow/blue and green/black cables these showed normal voltage.

Any other sugestions?

Check your engine run switch on your handlebars.

forgot to mention I've checked that already and works fine, what I cant get my head around is it wont start with start button but yet you can bump start it.

Also it lists there is suppose to be a 10A fuse, I have searched everywhere on the bike and can't find one. the bike is a FL model but the year was 1991. So not sure if there was a modification done and it was combines into the main fuse.

Check your battery voltage (if you haven't already). You can also try jump starting it from a car, which would take the battery voltage level totally out of the equation.

Sometimes the run switch and /or start switch cause an issue where it will turn the bike over but it will not start.

Should have added to check the sidestand switch and the ignitions switch (although I think that is doubtful)
