rode the bike to vermont for the day it was running sweet. then it started loading up and smelling like gas. when i got it home the second carb from the left was full of gas and pouring out the overflow tube. any ideas? i tapped on top of the carb took it for a ride and it seemed fine.

 

Carb cleaning or a rebuild. Sounds like the needle valve was stuck.

Yeah, dirty needle or sticky float.

 

clean those... wait for it .......carbs not hard to do and plenty of people with knowledge if you get stuck. I have a lot of experience with it and say to give it a whirl yourself
