Hi, new to the forum. Just recently got my 88 or 89 ( unsure because i have yet to run the vin, it was my fathers CBR before he passed away, and it sat in a shed for 13 years without being started, so needless to say, this is now my project) I am not very satisfied with the rear end of the bike, not saying that its ugly, but i would just prefer something different, and i want to keep the bike because of sentimental value.

Does ANYONE have any tips, or knowhow on how to do a tail end conversion to a Honda CBR 600 Hurricane? i was thinking somewhere along the lines of an F2 tail end. All help/tips are greatly greatly appreciated.

ALSO, just for giggles, i have just put the primer on all of the parts of my bike, and im quite indecisive on the color i want to paint.. i do not want generic colors like Black, Red, White, Silver etc. i feel as if everyone has those colors; i want to do something more on the unique side. all input is welcome

Good luck and best wishes on getting your Dad's Cane up and running. There are a lot of versions to do on the tail end conversion. It is just how much you can do with fiberglass.

 

I dont even know where to start though is the thing.. do i need to do custom fabrication? do i need to cut off my frame in the rear and weld a new one? how would i get the tail end, and brake light assembly to function? i just need a complete howto write up haha and i just cant seem to find one.

They have a great diy section. But what i would start with is figuring out what you want it to look like...example is do you want an r6 tail? or sv tail? buell tail? or bob it? once you figure out then you can start the research.
