WTB cbr 1000rr Suggestions?
Hey guys I'm new here. Name is Dennis. I love the way the cbr looks. In 2010 I had a 2006 gsxr 600 and loved it. I love the gsxr but I love the cbr too. I want a cbr 1000rr now and not anything older than 04. Can anybody tell me and good or bad things about the bike. I am currently looking for one. Oh I am only 5'6" which sucks!! lol So is anybody my size with a cbr 1000? Thanks guys and sorry if I did something wrong

The 04-07 will feel much bigger than your gsxr. They have a longer wheelbase and you sit up and over the tank a bit more. I'm 6"1 and and it fits me perfect. I can flat foot it with just a bit of bend in my knees. At 5'6", you have some issues touching. This is complicated by the 1000RR's longer reach to the handle bars over your old gsxr. You may fit better on the 08 on up 1000RR since it is a physically smaller bike.
As for issues, the 04-07 had some stator issues. Mainly 04-05, but some 06 and 07 models as well. I have an 05 and I have over 20,000 miles on it and haven't had one issue. Its been a great bike.
The 08 model had some oil burning issues that spread into the 09 models as well. There are a few reports here and there of a few 2010 models having issues as well. The hard part about this is there wasn't any rhime or reason. Some never had an issue while others had huge issues.
Check around as there have been recent posts about shorter people who have been lowering the 1000RR. Its not something I would suggest if you can handle the bike without lowering it. But if its something that has to be done to safely handle the bike, then its worth checking into.
As far as doing something wrong. I didn't see anything wrong with this post, so I'm not sure what you are talking about.
