Tip from Uncle John
Here's a tip I learned the hard way.
I was going riding with a buddy last weekend, so he came over to pick me up at my house and parked his bike in my garage. We talked for a minute, then started the bikes to leave. He rushed me enough that I pulled out of the garage and instead of parking at the bottom of my driveway which is more level, I parked at the top where I have a slight down hill slant. I had to dismount from the bike to close my garage, so I made sure the kickstand was down and sturdy, went to my garage to close it and my bike rolled forward off the kickstand and fell on the left side. What a sick feeling that is. I was so pissed because I have never dropped any of my bikes. Anway, $500 later it's up and running again. Can't wait to ride this weekend. Here's a before and after pic.

RE: Tip from Uncle John
Oh man, I feel for you.
Garage doors seem to be the sworn enemies of bikes. I dropped mine while rolling it out of the garage. The kickstand alway smacks the ledge where the garage drops down to the driveway, so I put the stand up to clear it, then, like you, I had a change of routine and had to get off the bike to grab the garage door clicker that I left inside, forgot to put the stand back down and...
...well, by the time I realized it wasn't down it was too far over to save. Fought it all the way down, but when only one leg is supporting and the other is still over the saddle, it just aint gonna hold. Bang, 9 different parts messed up.
