Temp.

RE: Temp.
My bike has hit 228 in the past but usually when I see the temp. go above 220 I Hit the highway to cool it off. I try to keep the bike as cool as possible. I've noticed that during the city my bike gets hot really fast.(due to the traffic)
Be glad you don't own a gixxer or a yamaha, (you would be sittin on the gas station...) because your bike would be over heating.
As long as the fans were On I wouldn't worry much unless it stood the temp. for a while.

Ya, but cbrrookie is saying 'if' you owned a gixxer or yammie and the temp did get up that high you would be overheating. You just got lucky that when you did own the gixxer that it didn't happen to get that hot, cause if it did it surely wouldn't have held up hehe

RE: Temp.
When I lived in Las Vegas a lot of us would just kill our engines when waiting at long stop lights, even at night when it was still 90+ degrees out. I remember leaving the bike on so the fan would still be running. I just kind of picked this up from the people I use to ride with so I don't know if this was bad for the bike.
I now live in the Pacific northwest and I still catch myself doing it every now and then.
