I am getting a hum sound like a pick up and drop of revs when im in 6th gear at higher speeds there is not a real feel of the noise while riding although it does feel a bit jerky if I try and hold the throttle steady the speed picks up and drops by one number, I was wondering if any body on the forum has had this problem before or if you could perhaps point me in the right direction
any ideas would be appreciated, thanks its a 2008 cbr 1000rr I was having difficulty starting the bike prior to the problem I picked u could a flat battery possibly cause those symptoms?

 

sound more like a fuel problem to me

 

thank you for the reply she does feel a bit ill responsive when I crank the throttle from low revs,perhaps she is starving of fuel.

 

Late to the party but I'd also check for fuel issues and, just maybe, check chain tension and sprocket condition. I've had an overly loose chain cause a very jerky or snatchy feeling when getting hard on or off the throttle...
