Default Removing Front & Rear Tires

I'm finally ready for track days after waiting for my leathers to be completed. I'm taking a course with Frank Kinsey at Roebling Road this weekend in GA and the only thing I need now are tires. I've already had my rear tire replaced once by a cycle shop that I think overcharges, and now I need both tires done. There are a lot of places that sell tires only, but won't take them off the bike. I really don't mind doing the work to save $90 on installation, but I don't want my wheels to fall off either because I didn't put them back on corretly. Does anyone do this themselves, or should I just take it to the shop and pay the man?

Here's a picture of my leathers I got to design myself.

Nice helmet.....

I do my own tires. It saves a lot of money and time. You have to leave a bike with a shop all day, or most of it for them to change tires for you. It's easy to do and as long as you pay attention, it's safe. You'll have to remove the brakes as well and you need stands. Do you have them? The shop manuals give a good break down on how to remove/replace wheels. The big thing most people screw up is the alignment on the back wheel with the chain.

Here's a link the 2004 CBR1000... it's close enough to your 2005 to get you by.

Yeah, what Don said. Easy enough to do on your own, and plus you don't have to worry if the mechanic was fighting with his wife/girlfriend and forgot to torque down your axle!

I trust myself with my life much more readily than I do someone else.
