pros and cons 1000cc vs 600cc
Follow the simple rule
Under 1 year of riding experiance:
30% chance of getting killed / dropiing, on a 600
70% chance of getting killed / dropping, on a 1000
Over 2 years:
15% on a 600
30% on a 1000
Over 3 years:
10% on a 600
10% on a 1000
Its your decesion now!

I am getting a liter bike next year and keeoing my 600 for the track! I think a lot of experienced riders would agree that a 600 can be alot more fun at the track. On the street I tend to not bounce against the rev limiter on a liter and it has a lot more low end grunt that's better for street riding when you don't necissarily want to be down shifting as much.
I say that you should start off on a 600 and work you way up!
Just my .02

I had an R6 as my first bike... had it for a year or so then upgraded to my current 1000rr, I do feel the wasted power when riding on the street, but I feel confident that im not going to abuse that fact and get crazy.
If you feel like (deep down) your a responsible person, and you want that 1000 just for funzies then go for it, if you KNOW your going to speed and zip in and out of traffic, get that 600
