I saw a '08 at the stealership this weekend. It was in that deep metallic red and it looked so small compared to my '06. It was sitting next to a 600RR and even made the 600 look big! Crazy...

I SEEN SOMEWHERE YESTERDAY ON THE INTERNET THAT THE 08' 1000 IS 10 LBS LIGHTER THAN THE 06' 600...THAT IS CRAZY

I guess the wheel base is about 1/4" longer than the 600 too.
Its got to be tough keeping the front end down.

I dont think we'll know how much more power the bike'll have until someone puts one on a dyno (next to another bike with a know quantity). Till then, I'm gonna guess 8 hp-10hp max, but a broader spread. We'll see.

My 07 is running 154HP at the wheel, i have heard the 08 will run about 15 more but it will be interesting to see.

Kelly over at psychobike.com(he works at a Honda ONLY dealer)just dynoed an 08. On pump gas with few miles on it, it made over 158rwhp. He thinks the stock exh. is killin it. I expect a good tune and pipe to bring it to over 170rwhp! With some good race gas....close to 180!

I would expect more seeing how my o7 did in the 150's but i am sure even with dyno results coming soon the debate is just beginning.
