My friend is going to be installing his Jardine Rt-one exhaust on his 1000rr...the question we have is, if the "butterfly system" is removed from the factory exhaust will a power commander be necasary??

You can run without it...Rode the Jardine slip on for 600 miles, loud rumbled way too much, wifey said it sounded like crap/breaking down and had a two die outs at stop lights as I was rolling out...called brad at SS got the PCIII, it made a world of a differance...now Im loving the 1000RR so much more...and the exhaust note is now cleaned up... TRUST ME and OTHERS who PUT on the PCIII...It is a no brainer must have...Why run without it...
Look gettin a pc3 should not be a question it should be your first mod. Very neccesary for fine tuning a machine that isnt tuned that well from a factory!! NIGHT AND DAY.
NO QUESTION BUY IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

does that mean it should go hand in hand to get a pc3 when getting a slip-on exhaust? or only with the full system? also I was looking at their website, and it doesn't show a map for the two bros slip-on, would i be SOL?

nonetheless you can always get a custom map from a reputed and reliable tuner but its not an inexpensive proposition
