Wear your gear and DON'T TRUST ANYONE on the road! Throttle control is key with an open class machine. Quite a powerful motorcycle for a newbie, but I'm not taking a hit at you, just be careful dude. Oh BTW, nice 'Vette!

 

Welcome Vert. Be advised that when you get used to the CBR, your Vette will simply not have the same thrill any longer. I was out in my very quick car the other evening when I decided to open it up like I usually do on the same stretch of road up to 140 and found myself glancing at the speedo with a ho hum attitude...as in "is this it?" Welcome to the Forum Vert. Will is right about the manual it say to break her in until 300 miles and keeping it under 6 rpm i have a 07 1kk also and that what i did, once you get over 300 miles you will be fine and remember to ride safe on any bike.

 

Nice bike. Like everyone said. Be very, very careful. that is a ton of bike for a new rider. Heck, a 600 is a ton of bike for a new rider.

On another note, once your comfortable riding solo and are ready to ride double,.... ride some more solo...lol. Seriously though, the bike will act completely different. Especially while manuevering at slow speeds. the passengers movement have major effect on the bike. So when your GF decides to look around your shoulder to the right..... your bike will pull to the right... just make sure she understands that she needs to keep still.. especially at slow speeds, (like pulling up to a stoplight or going through a parking lot. Oh, and if that bike wasnt wheelie happy enough, its alot worse with a passenger.
