Default new to this bike and this forum

Hi, newly joined as i,ve just aquired a 94yr model (UK - Scotland)
First task = assume its in good need of a full and detailed service whilst were in the depths of winter. So my first task is to get the suspension checked out and sorted to suit my riding style. I,m used to building up my own bikes (Harris and a Peckit Mcnab) with a sports bias. I tend to prefer a front end bias set up and definatly more B road bias. I,m about 14 stone and 6ft2".
So I,d apreciate your experience and advice with respect to suspension set up
Front forks -
how far do you drop them through the yokes = measured from the slider top to the yoke top, Oil = weight and air gap ( if you found changing from service recommendation helped)
spring = as above did you find adding more pre load via spacers etc helped
Rear Shock -
Spring pre load, i,d assume pritty much max and back off a half turn ?
rebound damping, again as above, max it out and back off a 1/4 turn ?
Any other tweaks ?
I,m looking for a good base case to start from
thanks in advance
I bought this bike for reasons that don,t fit with respect to an out and out modern sports bike, it fits my present requirments well, and i,m hoping to get it set up so I can get the best out of it - within the limits of its design
cheers

Some fork hints from Dad on https://cbrforum.com/fb.asp?m=305660

If I remember right, the rear free sag shall be set to 5 to 10 mm, and abut 25 mm rearsag with the rider on if the spring is correct for your weight.A bitsoft on rearis better than to hard to get goodcorner grip as long as the rearnever bottoms. The rebound adjuster shall be set so the bike raises fully within 1 second from beeing compressed by hand, and it should not overshoot on return to top.

A bit of an update
i,ve been well impressed with the std of finish and the engine reliability.
I,ve finished servicing the engine, expecting to need to fit cam chain / tensioner / maybe some carb float jets etc.., adjust the valve clearance, balance the carbs. I tried to find a fault - but it needed nothing bar a fresh set of plugs, oil and an airfilter
Frame / suspension, a bit of a lcean up - new head and swinging arm bearings, some fresh oil in the fork,s and job done
Overall the only two gripes were
a) rear front mudguard mounting bolts were seized = drill them out and made replacment inner brackets
b) the RH front brake roller bearings were a bit mucky, so i,ve greased them up for the moment, the dual brake, although i,m not sold on it - works fine
nope for a 50K mile 14yr old bike thats survived scottish weather its a sound bike
performance wise, its what I expected engine wise = the most sanitiesed, boring, linear power delivery i,ve ever experienced, not knocking it - its what it is
Overall handling and ride = a lot better than expected, it hides it,s weight well, a bit slow on the turn in - cured by dropping the fork,s 8mm
Nope - 5yr,s ago I would have laughed at it; i,m still laughing -
