Default My New CBR 1000RR

I have been to this website numerous times, but this is the first time I have ever posted anything. I want to start by saying "Thanks!” This site has been very informative for me and I appreciate all the information that is available on for just about anything you can think of for the 1000.

I bought my new ’06 CBR 100rr about 2 weeks ago (red and black) after selling my ‘97 900RR. WOW! This bike is awesome and is leaps and bounds better than my old 900.

Now for the kicker… on 9/11, some jerk hit my motorcycle in a parking lot and took off. I was devastated to say the least. There was a witness to the event, but all he noticed was a 90’s model grey Thunderbird with the license plate beginning with 1D. Apparently this wasn’t enough for the local police officer to care. In fact, he didn’t even take down the witness’s information.

To add insult to injury, my frame sliders arrived in the mail the following day. On a side note, I went with the OPP “lightech” no-cut frame sliders. They seem solid and installed relatively easily although I did have to grind down a very small portion of the left cowling in order for a proper fit.
Luckily, I have insurance and I will be getting a check for about $2000. I need to know the best place (other than EBay) to order OEM cowlings. Any advice?

Yeah, I've seen prices @ ronayers.com cheaper (much cheaper) than what plastics are going for on ebay.

What's wrong with people now a days? That they can back out of a parking space hit something and keep
on going.

I am just glad that I have full coverage in it. I have two friends that just bought '06 Gixxer 1k's and neither are fully insured.

Thanks for all of the comments and advice! Ronayers.com didn't have anything for an '06 modle online, so I will try calling them. I havent called Brad yet either, but I will at least get a price from both pplaces.
