2016 1k , has only 1200 miles on it and 5th gear going into 6th gear is not going into 6th gear all the way while shifting. Happens half the time. When I pull up to shift I have to pull up on it twice to fully engage the 6th gear. Kinda clicks in halfway and then all the when I pull up twice on it. Happens mostly at low to medium rpms (4-6k rpms) under 70-80 mph.
Bike Pulls good, does not pop out of gear and I don't really hear any grinding or anything. Goes in smooth half the time.
any ideas on what's going on? The previous owner said the original owner had the 500 mile service done. At some point. No telling how long ago. Oil looks clean. ...


Today I changed oil and filter (conventional) , lubed shifter pivot point, lowered shifter 1/4 inch down, checked clutch adjustment , tightened chain to 1.25 inch play and it still sometimes will have to pull up twice from 5th gear into 6th gear to get it to go into 6th gear. I'm usually around 4k-7k rpm going around interstate speeds.
with only 1360 miles on it will this go away after more miles? Does it take trans awhile to breakin more before it shifts smooth? Or does the trans on this bike like to be shifted into 6th only at higher speed and rpms?
