the bike was running like a clock the other night, yesterday i go to ride it, everything going normal, i go to open her up and i notice it cuts out at 9k, like hardcore, rpms drop til i let off the throttle, i also noticed my clock isnt saving anymore, dont know when this excatly happened.. im new to this forum and i know im kinda busting ***** asking right away, and yes i did search, on here and 1000rr.net but those guys arent even responding, can anyone help me out? its gonna be 60 out sunday here in connecticut and i really wanna ride. thanks in advance!!

 

Check the simple stuff first like battery and stator, I had a similar issue due to a battery problem once. Also check the fuses, my clock wasn't saving due to a blown fuse

 

+1 start at battery and work to charging system, fuses.

 

i acually put the battery from my srad 750 in it due to i dropped the stock one and it starting leaking...and it does start kind of slow when turning over havent really heard another 1000 start before, maybe i should buy a new battery after work?? i also dont understand how that could affect it but it does make sence its a kinda old battery. thanks guys im done with 1000rr.net

 

if ur bike cutts off you may need to check spark plugs!!!

 

I saw your post there yesterday and there were 3-4 replies.

 

Start with battery. I doubt it's spark plugs. That's the ecu kicking in.
