By the book. Not a moment (or mile) sooner.

every 4000 miles my filter and oil get changed, the book requiresit every 8000 but then it also says your air filtyer is clean then and its definatley isn`t. For the negligable cost of oil n filter every 4000 does me well, after all it works hard for me.

And another 4 year old thread rises from the ashes.

As long as I'm here I change my oil and filter every 3,000 miles, after the initial 60, 300 and 600 mile changes.

i have never seen an engine fail because of oil. oil is magical. There are some arguments about certain types ruining your clutch that i have read but idk. do a search it should bring up a few threads.

Yeah, everyone has there specific preference I go ahead and change mine every 4000mi. even though the book says 8000mi. LoL, if ya really think about especially if you own a 2008 like myself over the course of 4-8000mi. with all the oil consumptino you've probably changed the oil by adding oil over that mileage span......
