Default Fork Upgrade Question...

Ok, so I had talked to our trackday suspension guru and he'll be setting up my 07 for me at the first trackday...have heard he knocks of a few seconds of lap times from the experts, so hopefully he can do the same for me.
I was told by him to swap out the stock springs for .95 springs and use a 7 weight fork oil. I'd love to completely send off the forks for revalving too, but don't want to spend the money on that right now. I figured this would be a good start though. I'm about 250 with full gear and my front lacks confidence under hard cornering, feels spongy and really compresses and dives.
My question is how bad of a job is this? I have the manual on the computer...do I need any special tools? I do all my own service, no matter what, just haven't pulled fork springs yet. Will I need to pull the fork tubes out of the triples?
And big question: How many cc's do I need to fill with fork oil when I switch to the .95 spring since it will take up different volume from stock?
