I was looking into aftermarket exhaust for the '06 1KRR and I see where just about every slip-on and full system requires you to remove the Honda Titanium Exhaust Valve (HTEV). Does anybody know what the main function of HTEV is? I've Googled it before and it brought up a bunch of How-Tos and exhaust removal topics. I figure if Honda paid the engineers who designed this bike millions, why would we need to remove the HTEV? On the otherhand, if HTEV is a smog device, I can see the need in it's removal. Any input would be awesome!
