I think Chainstretcher made the most important point, basically saying that synthetic oil is just like regular oil except it has a much more uniform molecular structure. All the issues with clutch slippage and rings not seating and how slippery and oil is has much more to do with the additive package than the base oil. A good read on this stuff is chapter 18 fromSportbike Performance Handbook by Kevin Cameron.

Hey, I have an idea:
Why don't we do whatever the brilliant honda engineers who designed the engine say to do, instead of some fool on the internet who over uses bright colours and capital letters.

Honda's engineersdidn't write the break in procedure that's in the manual.

i had the first service for 500 miles done on mine 2000 miles ago. when they did it i told them to put in Mobil 1 full syn. not a probledm since. this 08 is soooo smooth. better oil = better wear resistance, period.
