CBR 1000RR INSURANCE???
Hello guys,
New here and excited to learn and find out more.
I'm looking to buy a CBR1000RR Repsol edition 2005 used. I live in California and will like to know if you guys can give me some feedback and rough estimates on insurance for the same bike; doesn't matter your location.
I going back to the motorcycle world after many years of just driving cars, so I'm a little rusty and need to know how much more money will be attach when buying this bike.
Thanks so much guys and Happy Holidays.
ROB.

I live in CA also, have a 2005 1000RR, and pay $528/yr for full coverage from AAA. I also have two cars and a house insured from them. I'm happy with their service and have had one claim for a YZF600 totaled 5 years ago.
hows your driveing record?

I have a CBR1000RR 2005 and I pay with State Farm $400 every 6 months, but I have VERY high limits on my policy ( not the normal 15/30/5 crap) My limits are something like 150/300/50....
Full coverage on a 2004 CBR1000rr, Country Companies, Vancouver, WA and I pay about $400/year. Important to note I'm 36, married, perfect record and also insure two cars and a house with the same company.
i'm in so cal with full coverage (slightly higher limits) on my 1000rr + medical indemnity paying a little over $800 annually to State Farm
my cars and house are insured w/mercury though
last week a friend of mine who was w/mercury told me that he was saving over $500 a yr by shifting to Costco's ins for both his cars
i'm considering getting a Costco membership and shifting EVERYthing - the cars, the bike and the house to Costco for the insurance savings ... don't consume enough to need to shop there though, haha !

It sounds like you guys are lucky to live in a state other than florida. here the cbr is the most stolen bike and insurance is out of this world. the first estimate that i got was for $3100 a year! This was with progressive and i told them to shove it. they say that the best is state farm, but you have to insure everything with them before they will let you insure a motorcycle. i was lucky that florida doesnt require insurance so i was able to bring the bike home. Now i just cant ever leave the bike unattended so i have all my frineds clear a space in their garages so i have somewhere to put the bike when i visit. good luck with the hunting.
Progressive and Geico are a couple of the highest. Shop around, you can save thousands with a phone call. I think Geico quoted me about $2000/yr for my last bike and Country Companies covered me for a little over $400/yr for better coverage.
