Bought it tonight.
As of 5:10pm I became the new owner of a lightly used, '06 CBR1000RR.
Now, I already got the hots for some rearsets I think, Stomp-Grip or some kinda grippy tank pad/bra,...and just adjusting the suspension is all I think it may need for years of ownership.
Noticed a slight bit of hip cramp on the ride home, slight abrubtness on/off throttle in 2nd (go figure) and noticed quickly that the front-end is way to soft to even mildly trail-brake without some tuning.[sm=bounceybounce.gif]

RE: Bought it tonight.
BTW, bike is the silver/gray model...
Took it out today, rode it fairly hard to get a feel overall of the bike...this thing is amazing[sm=signs007.gif]
After toying with the front compression the bike still wants to stand-up under trail-braking...little more nudge holds it in.
Sitting more upright and curling my back a bit makes the riding almost Sport-Touring quality, and no leg cramp!!!
Whoever said this seat is hard has never ridden a bike with a bad seat...my SV's and TL-S were like friggin' park benches compared to this thing.
Mirrors actually look behind me...when they start doing that? I used to check out bug stains, bird feathers and burning cigarette butts on my shoulders and elbows when I looked into them on anything else.
Monster motor, pulls as hard in 6th as my "worked" SV did in 4th, and it was no slouch for a twin
I simply rode the bike at my usual pace, tipped it in, neutral (maintenance) throttle, and rolled it on coming out of some sweepers and this thing stuck like glue, tracked wherever I looked to put it...and did it easily. I turned up the pace, it did the exact same.
I already got a buddy (SuperHawk rider) that wants 1st dibs if I want to sell it...later on I saw him ogling a picture of a Red?Black one on the internet...

RE: Bought it tonight.
I went from the 954 to the 06 1000 on friday and feel the same way you do. The stock front end settings felt soft but they adjusted just fine and the seat and mirrors are spot on. The 954 was like sitting on a brick compared to this seat and the mirrors would only show shoulder. Now i can cruise for hours and see beyond my shoulders with the longer mirrors. Also the power band is different. The 954 was weak until about 9k then it would surge like crazy. This bike seems constant through the entire rpm range.
