Default beyond pissed

I have a 2006 CBR !000. Sat on a tender during the off season, started up right away....but as soon as I put it in 1st gear it shuts off as if the kickstand is down. It seems like the clutch isn't engaging but I dont know why.......any suggestions on how to fix this problem?

Did you check your kickstand sensor?

He said as if the kickstand is down.

Check the sensor as suggested first. It's the easiest first step. You can also complete the circuit of the kickstand to test if it is the issue.

The clutch may be frozen as well. Try rolling the bike forward at a few miles per hour N put it into gear. If it goes into gear and still runs your clutch plates are frozen.
