Anyone from OHIO,PLATE LOCATION
Will cops bust my ***** for having my plate on my chainguard ( no light) .Wanted to know before buying mounting bracket. BMV websitesays you need light ,but didn't know how strict the cops are being?
I ride in ohio with mine sideways on the chainguard and then bent down around the back side of it, if you know what I mean. I've never been stopped or asked about it. It probably depends on how much your cops have to do and how much of a hassle they want to give you. I'm gonna switch to screwing it into the bottom/back of the battery box here pretty soon though, so that I can put a light on it and not have to worry about it.
here in cleveland they are kinda picking on the swing arm mounts. if it is horizontal and with a light they have no beef. but when it is mounted up and down with no light they have been giving tickets at the bike night here in valley view.
if they make a mount that keeps it horizantal, and you put somelighting bolts on it they may be ok with that. i used a set of the bolt style lights on my other bike and they never bothered me about it, mine was under the seat by the shock though? i think they are more looking for the lack of lights then the way it is mounted. you near cleveland?
