Default 2008 top speed

I was wondering what the highest top speed anybody has seen with the new bike. I finally broke her in and managed a very smooth yet quick run up to 164 before and ran out of room (and cojones), it was still pulling ridiculously hard for that speed. I read in motorcycle usa's review that this thing will pull redline in 6th and was curious what anyone else has experienced.

Almost all sportbikes sold in the US are limited to 186 MPH... the Hayabusa, ZX14, and and the rest of the Japanese 1000CC sportbikes produced after 2000 I believe are limited to that magic number. There are exceptions, but none of them Japanese (i.e. MV Agusta 412R and Y2K are the only two that come to mind)

Right, I know that , butI am not sure if the gearing will permit it, i guess if I was smart enough I could figure it out mathematically. I was just curious what some others have seen on their bike. Thanks for the info though!

Hi

175 last night. Pulling strong and lots more to come, justy not enough clear road. Will easily be good for indicated 180s but not sure how much the speedo is exaggerating

Yeah, doesn't feel that fast as the bike is very stable.

well vpso is right about the 186 mph tops...well after breakin my 08' in i managed to hit 155 mph before I ran out of room which is often the case especiallycongested areas...

At 155 I was only on 5 gear and only at 8-9rpm...

omg ...was it steady...and i had plenty of room left...shhheesssshhhh...

this thing is a monster...plently of pushing power.....

It is definetly a deceptively fast bike, very stable at high speeds. I think I need to get a louder helmet or something to keep my *** out of trouble!!! Oh yeah, 174 yesterday!!!
