Default 08 1000rr Hard to start

My 08 seems like it is much harder to start than my 6RR. My 6 seems like it comes almost instantly to life as soon as I press the starter button. However when I press my starter button on the 1k it seems as if it's about to give up just before the bike starts up. It does start a lot better if it is warmed up, but I've had to try two or three times to start it on occasion after it sitting overnight or for a few days.

I haven't done anything out of the ordinary on this bike, and it's been like this since I bought it in March. I chalked it up to the cold weather earlier in the year but since it's continued I'm not sure.

Anyone else with this issue?

Mine cranks slow too. Have you looked at the size of the battery?

My 07 1000rr sounds like it has a harder time starting then my buddies 08 600rr, i think it has to due with the same size starter being used on both (maybe i'm wrong?), and it takes more to turn the bigger motor. Mine starts EVERYtime though (within 2 seconds when sitting overnight).

Check the volts on your battery, if all the cells are good it should read a minimum of 12.6 or so. If its below 12, go buy a new one.

Slow start up on the 08 -->> Normal. Nothing wrong with the battery.
Had it like this since the first firing. The battery is the smallest ever, yet the bike needs the power. Nothing to worry about.

mine is almost the same. if it is cold it starts better but once it gets hot from riding it seems like it isnt gonna have the juice. it has been checked twice and they say that battery is good.

You guys see the SBK race where they had to change the bike over and both Honda's would not start up :P Its the design :P They could not jump start it either cause of the slipper clutch lol
