Default 08 1000rr brand new $7999++

before i pull the trigger on the deal, i would like to ask the forum, do you guys/gals think this deal Honda is giving out on the 1000RR will happen again? like for the 09's? if this type of deal happens every year then i will just wait....but it seems like this is too good to pass up..

Thumbs up

I've seen 08's for $6895 on ebay. If the economy doesn't turn around QUICK, you'll see the same deal on 09's. The 10's will be out soon, so it may be worth waiting. There will be far less 10's, so dealers may not drop 09's as much.

Default 08 cbr deal

I grabbed the deal on the 08 up here in vermont just last week. Not many up here to choose from up in vermont so I grabbed it while I could get it. I don't think they're going to get much lower.

There's more than one place asking that price. That tells me that the "regular on sale rebate price" of around 7200-7995 is not the bottom.

GBRacer brings up a good point. the only reason they are so cheap right now is they made a lot more than they are selling. Its a sure bet the 2010's will be far less in numbers than the 08 or 09's. Seeing that it is basically the same bike as the 08's, they know they won't sell that many, so they won't make very many, thus weeding out the 08 models rather quickly, and therefore they won't have to drop the price of the 09's as much.

I doubt the price will carry over to the 09's the way it has on the 08's. But you never know. At this point in the economy, Honda, as well as every other company out there, is selling things barely above cost just stay out a float.

Having said that. I think I would wait until spring. There seams to be an aweful lot of 08's still leftover, and there will still be some in the spring. I think Honda just made a huge mistake in the production numbers for the 1000rr in 08. They made far too many of them in the first place. That combined with a design that most do not like, combined with an economy that is not recovering. You'll still find 08's next year.

thanks for the input guys.....I pulled the trigger and got an 08 for 7999.00, i fear the winning red color i wanted was depleting in my neck of the woods (Massachusetts)and i would rather have the color i wanted than a $500 discount and if it does go down more, i dont think it will be by much more....if the number of 09 units is less than the 08, and 2010 units will be lesser...this will eventually drive the price to at least stagnate....anyways, it is an awesome deal right now and the bike is what i always wanted.....will post pics...Thanks again.

depending on the dealer, fees may range from 350 up to 600...I think they call it destination/freight and documentation fees.....some dealers will go for less but not in my neck of the woods (Massachusetts)
