I bought a 1990 as a "back up" bike for my son to ride when he was in town. I now recognize that it is more comfortable than my 10 year old Yamaha Road Star, and most importantly, it is so capable that it makes the riding not only more fun but it feels a bunch safer. The Road Star is one of the best handling cruisers around, especially with Metzlers, but I feel so much more capable and secure on the CBR. After a couple of long rides over a couple of days, during one of my rides on the CBR (we switched back and forth on the bikes all the time) I said "This is more comfortable than the Road Star." and he said "That’s what I thought too, but I was afraid to tell you."

I’ve been riding almost 40 years, on and off, and the CBR has changed my experience. We almost fight over who get to ride it now. He took it back to college with him, so I had to go out and buy another one (1993), so we each have one now, though they are in different cities.

Nope, no need to be suspicious, Joe...
They won't do it again.
I promise!

This is from our first/last long road trip in summer of 2008. His old bike. I think he's been watching too many Brit movies. BTW, I took this picture while riding next to him.

This was my luggage. I put it in the front of my pants to impress the women.

Cool pics, house.
I wanted a Magna for a while. If I ever find a mint one for ther right price, I'll probably grab it.

Why so much luggage? You must be high maintenance... lol..
I had a friend that took a 34 Ford cross country and he packed the same way. His fuel tank was in the trunk, so he had no room. He packed individual ziplock bags (one with each set of clean clothes) in around the tank. Dirty went on the left, clean on the right....

I had a 94 black Magna in 94 and kept it for about 5 years. I loved it for quite a while, but it started feeling like it didn't have enough torque for two, and it handled so well it felt too light to be macho.

So I got a Road Star in 99 and it is definitely heavy with more torque but still handles great (for a cruiser).

When we got the "new" 95 Magna in 07, I then noticed it sits "short". We had to cut the foam out of the back of the seat to be comfortable. They are nice bikes, but they are no competition in performance or comfort to our Hurricanes. (Read that as "boring").

I ride a 1987 Black And Red Hurricane because it was love at first site. My buddies and I were in the Blue Ridge Mountains camping in 1988. We were at country store off of the Blue Ridge Parkway and 221 getting supplies and out popped this most beautiful motorcycle on 221 and pulled into the country store parking lot. I could not get over how stunning the body work looked and how great it sounded. Just looking at the way the word Hurricane looked so cool on the gas tank. Woww!! I leaned over to one of my buddies and said I will own one of these Hurricanes one day. In October 2003 I plunder my 401K and bought my beloved 1987 Honda Hurricane. Now that I own one it has been a great sport touring machine. Comfortable seat for me and my wife and plenty of speed to get me were ever I need to go. The looks are priceless when you pull into an old country store.
