Same here k&n annd jts done, from xperience, wwhen i got the bike i had 11 , very powerful in the upper band bu very loud, I read on the supertraap site and they recommend between 6 and 8. Best compromise between the powerband and sound:

Before at 11 disk
at 100kph motor was turning at 4000rpm, god midrange but not what it should be for that bike.
Now 100kph around 3700-3750 kph and very good mirandge and a beautiful sound.

All over the power band i got better power with a bout 200-300 les rpm everywhere. and the famous Huricane kick start at around 5500- 5800

I dropped in a Shorai LiFePO battery yesterday. Started right up yesterday and today. Didn't bother putting in the spacer foam as it seemed tight enough. The old battery wasn't strong enough to cold start anymore.

Worked on the 'Cane's center stand today by putting it back on. I found a thread on here that I found using the "search" on how everything goes back together. Took the supertrapps disks out and counted them, there were 11 on each side. I took out 3 on each side. I will be running 8 when I take her out on her first ride.

Worked on putting exhaust pipe covers back on .......... right side no problem
left side ........ dead stop ........ center stand leg indentation on left side pipe
cover contacting link pipe - making entire pipe cover sit off by a whopping inch.

This is going to take some major brain scratching to get it to mount on the bike
properly

Funny you should mention that. I am sitting here in a hotel room in SC and yesterday I was looking through some pictures on my laptop. I was looking at my bike pictures before the TB and noticed how deep the indent in the shield for the center stand is. I was thinikng how deep it is and how it engulfs the lever.

Yah well ya could say one pipe cover got the **** kicked out of it this evening
BUT - it will go on that bike now even with a few bumps and bruises.

Going to scout ebay for a few spare left side covers as it's really going to take
some sheet metal work with some cutting and welding to get this "just" right
at some point in the future - but for now I'll have the silver bike back on the road
at the weekend so I can get stuck into the stuff I have to to the other bike.

I was lucky enough over the last couple of days to source a rack for my 92. Got it off a guy parting out an 89 for 50 bux !!!! Repainted it this arvo and also put on some gold rim striping front and rear. Just got to get a battery now, hook up the heated grips, a rear tyre and she will be right to register. Rack to go on tmrw. Not long now !!!!
