Washed it and got on and went for a ride but I think the slides are sticking. I think I'll have to pull the carbs apart.

Let's see:

inflated, balanced, installed tires (1.2 hrs), set chain tension (.3hrs), finally tightened stem mount RAM ball (.5 hrs, had to go in from bottom of triple tree to tighten lower nut).

All this after a 14 1/2 hour day @ work

I removed the grab handle from the 92 which had a broken mount. I had another one I got off Ebay ages back so I stripped it back to bare aluminium, etch primed it and painted it red. I thought it came up pretty good. It works well with the white fairing and black rack. I thought there was to much white back there so decided to break it up a bit.

Al,
I had Dunlop Q2's on mine about a year ago as many here will remember. The first 2K miles were outrageously good giving me some pretty exciting cornering grip but after that they started to go down hill fast to the point of being downright dangerous. I didn't leave them on long enough to notice any uneven wear on the front but I know one thing, I'll never put another pair of Dunlops on my old girl again. SHe's just too heavy for the compound of a tyre that is plainly made for more modern, lighter machines.
I'm running an oddball combo of Pilot Road 1 front and PR 2 on the rear and I like them. 4.5 K miles on them and no appreciable wear on them yet. I still prefer the Bridgestone 021's though.
It's interesting to hear how Hawks budget tyres are panning out. I would consider trying them out if he gives us a thumbs up when they come up for replacement. Such a good price.
I don't think style of riding has much to do with uneven tyre wear. Wheel alignment is a more important factor.

Default amazing - after 3 years

Got this 1987 Hurricane I just "found" to fire up after been sitting in a garage
for 3 years -- smoke was horrendous - had to pull the electric fuel pump
which was bad and gravity feed it - once I got some Seafoam through it
and ran the hell out of her for 15 minutes - she purrs

20 mins to get it all sorted from no start to sweet sound of a Hurricane motor

Ya gotta love these bikes - they are something else forsure

looks like something had a nest up under the pipe covers !

couple of pics
