There are plenty of bikes with the same length. The CBR uses a short stroke so finding one with the sme stroke wont be a problem.

If I was in the US I would go for a Penske or Ohlins, but they are too dear here

I ended up with Hagon front springs and a Hagon rear shock. Bike feels very stable now and can be pushed much harder than before.
At the same time I used Motul 10wt fork oil and reduced the air gap in the shocks to 149mm.

Total cost for all new items around £275 GBP. - Money well spent.

Why are you changing the rear shock, for more loading ore better handling. My one is a bit soft with me the girl and a bit of gear on board.

You can put in more preload if neccessaryby adding a large washer at the end of the spring. The shock has to be removed though.

Yes maybe something like that and you are right, the risk for coil bind will increase and this margin has to be checked.

The main reason for the change was that the old shock was leaking and required changing anyhow.

Irode a friends CBR1000F with the hagon kit on it and was impressed by the feel of the bike so I went for the same.

Haven't done too much 2 up riding since it was fitted but it seems to handle it ok
