bluebeard check your fork tube bushes. MY other 88 has 65000k on it and the movement is in the fork tubes not the head set.

 

Cheers weekendrider. Went for a 200+km ride today paintballing which included dirt riding. I now have something rattling in the front end??? It don't sound good but once I covered a couple of k's all quiet. Handled well up to 200km/hour & taking into account my need to replace tires spot on in the hills. Sounds like a couple of things on the way out but I hadn't thought about fork bushes. I'll check them too.
