have you had the carbs off striped and cleaned lately.

 

the carbs were stripped, cleaned, float reset, valve clearances done... They gave it a "full tune" and it took 5 hours...

It's running well now. I'm just going to ride it for a while and some time in the next six months, I'll look into what's involved with dismantling the bike to whatever level is necessary to give a few lumps of engine to the shop to get machined, bored, sleeved, reconditioned, ringed, etc... and then it'll do annother 130,000km.
