Default Starting problem

Hi,

I have -92 hurricane, worked fine this far. Now bike doesnt start, engine cranks fine in start, problem affiliates to really weak spark.
battery is new, kill switch works ok. with jump start no problem at all.

Some power loss in acceleration can be sense.

Any ideas where to start troubleshooting???

SOunds like your new battery may be not quite as new as you think. Take it back to where you got it and have it tested.
If a jump start from another battery gets you going then I'd say that's a bit more than just a clue as to what may be wrong.
A bad battery will render these bikes useless.

I agree that the battery needs to be full for starting but I wonder if it is charging.

What is the voltage of the battery when the bike is not running?
What is the voltage when the bike is at 2,000 to 3,000 RPM?

I think these should be noted before going on. If the ALT is charging maybe the battery is not excepting the charge.

Default Not a charger

Charger output 14,5V/2500 RPM, should not be that. Next best guess if not faulty battery??

If you have 14.5 at the battery at 2500 rpm's, your bike wants to charge the battery. I think your battery does not want to take the charge. I would go have your battery tested and swapped with another.
