Glad you found it Coopz -
Earth and ground are the same as far as I know. It depends on where you are from.

Think of it this way Shadow1
I have a radio sitting on a stand, takes 4 AA battery's so 6-volts.
The negative of the battery is grounded to the chassis of the radio and that’s touching that metal stand that it's sits on, so the radio is grounded.
If I put a another radio next to it, touching the metal stand, that is grounded and they share the same ground.

The stand has rubber feet, but I decide to put a 9-volt battery between the stand and a wire that pokes into the dirt outside. So my 9-volt battery is earthed with the +9volts is going to the stand.

If I get a meter, the radios are 6-volts, but if I Earth the meter's black probe to a peg outside, I get 15-volts, cause I have just earth the meter, where before, it was just grounded.

That’s how I see it, I also used Mr Google to make sure I was right

Bottom of http://amasci.com/amateur/whygnd.html was the best I could find

Cause I am downunder, we see -15v not +15v, we ride on the other side of the road, our beer is cold, our toilet water spins the other way, and a sidewalk is a dance move or a sign of drinking too much cold beer.

As I said, it's an OZ thing.......
You just want to confuse use with your indesputable logic......
However, I submit that grounding is an American term, which refers to being held inside a house (generally IRO teenagers), and therefore
Your fridge would be grounded (it ain't going anywhere), and your bike is earthed
Your bathwater also makes whirlpools the same way as ours, we drive on the left, which is right, and being negative not positive is def an OZ thing - pity you blokes can't play rugger, either.... A sidewalk - dance move ? Nah, its a PAVEMENT
Most of our portable radios are plastic, and they still play when picked up off the table.........
he he - enough, already !! He's FIXED THE PROBLEM
