Default Slow indicator

Strange problem has come up in the last week or 2. When I click my right indicator on, it takes sometimes, 2-3 seconds to come on, it works fine other than that, and the left one comes on instantantly.

Any help would be welcome.

Hi Coopz - this usually blown indicator globe or poor earthing in that indicator side.

[ol][*]Check both globes on that side are working.[*]check the earth lead - front and back for that side.[/ol]
Coopz please email me a contact number - i might take a flying visit Melbourne to Adelaide - maybe catch up.

If you have good bulbs and earth, the problem is in the flasher unit. Inside them is a bi-matalic strip that heats up and breaks contact when the flashers are used. They get week and move slow.

Hmmm.. it flashes at a normal speed, it just takes a few secs to come on. Globes are fine, starting to think its a earthing issue, I'm gonna pull it apart this morning.

If the other 3 flashers work correctly, it's not the flasher unit, Coopz.
I had a similar problem on a GPZ I was rebuilding - ran another earth wire from the bulb carrier to the bike, problem solved. May just be a little corrosion on the earth/ earth wire for that flasher.

I've had the same problem coopz, but after winter storage, suggesting corrode issue. Easy solve for me, just some WD-40 or similar in the button thingie on the bars. Just spray with the small tube attached to the can, stick it in where the lever goes out of the block.

If earthing is grounding, I agree with the others. The rubber seal around the lens isn't the greatest in the world and will sometimes let moisture into the lens. I have seen rust around the socket base that interferes with proper grounding.

One of mine did the same thing, I just took it apart and took a little sand paper to it.

earthing& grounding aren't really the same thing, I guess.

grounding refers to a common (-) reference point of a system, IE chassis
where earthingrefers to Mother Earth.

So, our bikes are Grounded and my Beer fridge is Earthed
