So as usual I went against what I swore I would do when I started this and I rushed a coat. I only let it cure for 24 hrs instead of 48 and here's what happened:

Wonderful bit of lifting there. Really sucks too as I had worked this last one down to 1500 grit and this was supposed to be the last coat. Oh well, one step forward two steps back. I'll sand it out in a couple days and follow the directions. I need to get to some other work on the bike anyway... while pulling my old header I broke an exhaust stud and that still needs to be extracted
I'm just having great luck now eh?
On a brighter note, yes Hawk! The final coat will be cured in the oven, where else? Hopefully I can get some of this bit of awesome to come through in the finished product:

Do they ever, and I don't have room by the head to get a good hold w/ my vice grips. My bits and extractor are sitting at the ready... I just always give myself a few days before I go to that option. For a method of last resort I sure seem to have to do it a lot! The old PB Blaster and impact can only get me so far

When I was painting the bike a few months ago, I had set up a paint booth where the small stuff hung from the roof and the big stuff laid propped up on the ground. Everything was going fine, until my last clear coat where I stepped back - right onto the left lower fairing. Totally ruined the paint. LOTS of resanding and swearing involved there...

Man I wish I could say I've never done anything like that but I know the feeling all too well! Sometimes I just have to stop and take a break for awhile before I make things worse. This is one of those times.
I'm thinking maybe Saturday I'll extract that bolt but after that I'm taking the Ninja out and me and a buddy are gonna ride out for a brewery tour. I need the ride for sure

My last bike was a Shadow 1100 Sabre and i broke off an exhaust stud too. Too close to the block to get a grip on, and the last broken bolt i tried to drill out went very very not good for me. So i just had it professionally drilled out this time. Unfortunately i am not much of a finesse mechanic...
