Radiator Flush??
My Cane is now back together and I was tempted to use a radiator flush through the cooling system - the flush is designed for alloy engines - anyone flushed the system? is it good to check the thermo etc ? its usually 39/40 degrees celcius over here and we know the Cane's hate the heat...
The Haynes manual says any flushing agent can be used so long as it is for aluminium engines , so you should be ok , just follow the instructions on the pack . It also says you can reverse flush the radiator by putting the hose in the 'uppermost ', I suppose that means the top hole

Be careful with engine flushes. They have a nasty habit of scouring all the scale off & dumping it into the top tank of the radiator & blocking it. If you need to flush it in such a manor make sure you remove the thermostat & reverse flush after the cleanusing a proper fitting that uses water & compressed air. That way all crud is blown out once the clean is done. You can also use a filter sock on the radiator inlet to catch the scale. Both items should be available from your local auto shop. Hope this helps.
If you use the right mix - distilled water/antifreeze, rad should be good indefinitely. It's the non-distilled water that causes the problems. I drained and refilled mine recently, no scale, nothing.
Reverse flush as Blue suggests, and all will be well.
