Default Question.

I was riding today, was in 6th gear and when I gave it gas to speed up the revs climbed ,but suddenly the revs went from 6000 to 10000 and back down, kind of felt that clutch was not hooking up right.
Could it be the clutch or is it something else?

Sounds like clutch slippage to me. Possible between gears.

Sounds like the clutch to me. If it was between cogs it probably wouldn't have re-engaged and if it did you'd have heard some bad crunching and would've lurched badly.

If it is the clutch it'll just get worse until you get the ***** and change it.

That's what I thought, going to order the parts, might as well get the brakes, plugs and chain/sprockets. Thanks.

Ya sure you don't have "energy conserving" stamped automotive oil in there ????

That will make it do exactly that !!!! ......... ya really have to watch out for the
newer oils labeled that way with what are essentially friction modifiers that make
wet clutches slip like crazy !

Other than that .... if not that is ....... a new clutch is in order
