Default Q :regulator rectifier

how would i know that the regulator is working? my low beam is not working, just the high beam..

Your low beam bulb is shot.
If your reg wasn't working, you'd have no lights or power very shortly...............
and a flat battery...................

i suspected that the rectifier was a failure because the battery always drained.

i can't find the exact stock parts, i found only RR23 but i wonder if i need to modify the wires.

Electrex is the best option and yes you "may" have to replace the oem
plug with the one they provide ........and it's super easy to do if that's
the case for the 88, mines a 1990 so a modified plug with instructions
did ship with it ..........figure it may be the same for the 88 model

Take you about 15 minutes to do it in any event

They are a great R/R ...... big and meaty which means plenty of
heat dissipation cuz these baby's get real hot at times

Make sure you have a good battery ....less work for the charging system

Trout put me on to MotoBatt on Ebay ........ My Opinion ..... One Great Battery !
