Default Possible gas leak??

The other day I had my 93 model parked in the parking lot on a sunny day about 85 degrees. I happened to be looking at it when I saw one drop of gasoline fall from under the bike, just to the rear of the kickstand. It was really warm with the sun beating down on the bike.

When I got home i stripped all the plastic and raised the gas tank and looked every where, but never found a leak. Is it possible that one of the overflows could have caused a drop to come out due to the excess heat from the sun? Had about a 1/2 tank of gas.

Was it definitely gas , does the bike smell of gas?

There is a drain pipe for the crank case ( crank case breather pipe), in about the area you described (just behind the centre stand), it should have a plug in it , maybe your missing the plug.

Its not the crank case breather; the plug is in it. And yes, it was definitely gas. There is some kind of overflow coming from the bottom of the tank, but Im dont sure where it discharges. I wonder if it could be that.

Anyway, there is no smell of gas now.

I don't know when the last time you gassed up , but if it was really full the gas might have expanded in the heat of the sun and a little gone down the overflow , I think the overflow is on the same side as the side-stand . Or maybe a little just sloshed over into it?

Anyhow if there's no smell of gas and no more drops I guess it must be OK , just keep an eye on it

Sorry just re-read your original post DUHH! wouldn't be any of that stuff then would it.
