Port for GPS / Phone Charge
Can any one out there give me a simply fix. I wish to run my GPS off the bikes 12 volt power thats no problem and I have bought a marine grade cigarette port with a cover plug etc which I have fitted to the left hand side of the fairing near the fuse area. Now all I need to know are which two wires or do I just need to bite into one? So I need to know which power wire when the igintion is on and earth the other to the bikes frame or to the fuse box. I would also use it for charging my mobile on the very odd occasion too

RE: Port for GPS / Phone Charge
I've supplied power to two Powerlet outlets (BMW style) one on each side of the dash from a relay switched fuse box and ground block. I like using a relay to make sure that the device gets full power and it's not running through a switch. Also the added benefit of turning the device off with the key so you don't drain your battery if you leave it on accidently.
Heres how I wired it all up. Now to plug in new devices all I need to do is plug in a power to the fuse block and one to the ground block, and put in a fuse! I can connect up to six devices to the fuse block.
I like the Powerlet sockets, because of the secure connection. You can get a Powerlet to cig lighter adapter if so desired.
