I'd like to extend my search for a replacement engine for my '87 1000. Are there other forums that where I could look for an engine?

 

There is another CBR forum, can't remember what it is, will tell you when I find it (the other forum is not as hot as this one)
There are a few member from this one in that one.

 

CBR1000F Engine, here's one listed on ebay ,US. May give You some idea of what it may be worth.

Thanks for the link but I've already seen that one. With the cost of shipping to Buffalo, duty and fuel, Might as well but the one avaialb elocally for $1000+tax. To me, thats' a little too much for an engine like this.

 

Scout the motorcycle boneyards, and Your best bet may be a whole bike in rough conditon, that runs, and sell off all the unwanted pieces. I 'm sure you thought this through. When You state Buffalo, is that Buffalo,NY ? If so, and I see any others I will post them .There was a couple ofbeaters recently on Craigs list cheap, so Just be patient, and Your deal will show up.

 

This is one to consider, not too far and you could definitely find takers for the plastics, v and h exhaust, etc

Thanks for the heads up. I've ben watching that bike on ebay since yesterday. It would be at least a 2 day trip to MD and back to Ontario.
I'm also keeping eye on the junkyards too.
