Oil preassure gauge on CBR

Oil preassure gauge on CBR
Anyone using an oil preassure gauge on the CBR? I think it would be a nice feature to have and to be able to monitor the oil preassure from time to time. I don't want to wreck this great engine which deserves good care. A preassure gauge may say a lot about the condition of the engine and some about the oil condition. Got fresh gauge-inspiration from Captain's farkle thread

RE: Oil preassure gauge on CBR
Oil pressure gauge installed. I located it on the right hand small triangular fairing between the gas tank and the top fairing. Readings are 20 PSI (1.5 Bar) hot engine on idle and 90 PSI (6,5 Bar) from about 4500 rpm.

RE: Oil preassure gauge on CBR
I gotta tell you all something right now! With the swing arm mod, the clock, temp guage pod mod, now the oil guage mod, running tests on the tires....
I just can't keep up with all the projects that get posted and then I end up going out in the garage after everyone goes to bed... Then my wifes comes out there and asks me, "do you know what time it is?" I say no, she says look out the door. I go to the garage door open it up and it's daylight. I remember going in there around 10:00 p.m. the night before.[sm=sleeping.gif]. Hahahahaaa
sorry wasn't trying to highjack the thread. I just love all the projects. Keep it up.

RE: Oil preassure gauge on CBR
I gave the pressure gauge some maintenance today to make it bike proven. It is a cheap ($ 20) unrugged gauge for cars, so I pryed off the bezel and sealed it with silicone under the bezel. Not fun if it will rain inside the gauge after the first wash. There was also a disturbing misreading, the needle didn't fully moved up to zero when the ignition was turned on, about 8 PSI was missing, i.e. it showed minus 8 PSI. I just took the needle away and relocated it at zero whit powered gauge but engine off.
Bad news - I got a signed cerificate from a policeman this morning that the CBR is capable of a speed which they dont see very often [X(], damn. There was no traffic around, so I was at least not handcuffed [&:]

I think it's a CBR thing, because after many years of awardless riding on other bikes (yes just as fast and powerful) I avoided the awards until one month into CBR ownership.
Glad to hear you avoided the cuffs though. That would have sucked.
