no you're right...the f4i doesn't have a "gas gauge" per se...all it has is when you have less than i believe a gallon left, it notifies you and counts down to empty....

hmm. well don't i sound like a dumbass. it doesn't do that. no gas light for reserve and no gas gauge. i wouldn't normally care but i'm trying to plan a trip to Deal's Gap next weekend and it's 458 miles away. guess i'll have to do the stop and rock method a few times.

so even when you get low on gas, the gas level meter never kicks on...it should show like four bars on the left side of the gauge cluster....as you go through each 1/4 tank, each bar will blink....if it doesn't do that...check the service manual and check where the connection wire is for the gas level sensor....i believe it's just a fluid sensor in the tank...if and when i get home, i will try and find out what it says about it...

If your reserve light isn't goin, you are going to have to rely on your trip meter.

Try filling the tank up and then disconnect the battery for a while. I was having the same problem and that solved it.

yea actually there's no indication of a gas meter or gauge anywhere on the instrument panel. i just assumed that the sensor was faulty or something wasn't plugged in but i'd really like to fix it now that i'm planning a decently sized trip. the bike didn't come with a manual. well... it did but it looks like a dog and or hurricane got a hold of it.

well you won't see anything until you are low on fuel....until that point, there is no indication of anything for gas on the gauge cluster.....how many times have you filled up your tank and at about how many miles....better yet, ever run out of gas??? i mean maybe you just haven't gotten down to the point in the tank yet...on average, when you fill up, how much do you add to he tank...if it's not over 2.5 gallons, it's likely you haven't tripped the sensor yet...

seriously just run it till it starts to bog down (make sure your near some gas though) and see if anything pops up .. you might think your almost out but havent reached the reserve yet
