When i got my 88 2 and a half years ago it had 23000k on it a import and coolant were very old. When i changed the coolant it started to leak out of the head gasket when cold ,you could just see a green stain so i put half a bars pellet in it and it stopped and has been good since. Now it has 53000k on it. I think thea's bikes havesat around when i took the panels off the first time it was full of cobwebs.

Just keep a close eye on the fluids. Watch the coolant level isnt dropping. Changing a head gasket can be done with the engine in the frame. Its not a hard job, just a little time consuming if you do it carefully.

mate u havnt got a blown headgasket, when oil and water mix its goes a whity brown gluey colour, i wouldnt have a clue what the blue stuff is that yr talking about, and if u had a blown headgasket the bike would be using water and overheating, or putting water in yr engine oils aswell
