Default New member with a petcock problem...

Can anyone assist please? Should the fuel tap leak fuel when it is in the "OFF" position. I took the tank off the bike and the fuel (what was left of it) poured out of the tap, despite the "OFF" position. The rest of the fuel appears to be in the crankcase.

Problem fixed. The tap was broken. got another from the wreckers and it works fine. The tap is designed to stop all fuel flow when the vacuum line is removed, irrespective of any tap position.

Sorry, slaps... I didn't see this post or i would have explained the whole thing to you. I just missed it.

If you have any more questions about anything else, post them down in the Hurricane section. Much much more likely to get the answers you need.

Oh, and welcome to the CBRF.

No problem, man!
We always like seeing new members, especially ones with the same bike...
Many of the 1000F guys just don't leave the Hurricane section much, so they didn't notice.

We've gotta have the biggest 1000F section on the net by far. Heck, we even have many regulars here from Australia.
CBRClassic, DavethePom, AussieJohnno, Naga_Thai, Bordo, etc. etc.
A ton of cool guys.
Just stop by over there and say G'day.

Yep! And when you need to sync the carbs with the bike running, you need to put a vacuum to it so that fuel will flow. I use one of those hand held break line bleeders.

G'day mate!
