Default fuel petcock problem

when out riding if i have to turn on to reserve my bike a 1990 cbr1000 fl doesnt like it i lose power it runs like a dog is there a common problem here or a filter i need to clean etc any help would be greatly apprciated

Gunk or moisture sitting in the bottom of the tank - clean it -imo

+1 had the same problem on a cb750. Bottom of the tank was sludge city.

Yep used to be a big issue for me before I came Stateside - no more damp cold or 100% moisture everywhere
just dry freeze your stones off winters

Might want to inspect the interior of your tank for rust while you are at it - and potentially seal it with a
tank sealer
